Beaujolais Day Tasting
Cru Beaujolais & Gamay Noir Tasting
Thursday, November 21st | 3pm-7pm

Thanksgiving is full of traditions… family, sweet potatos and marshmallows, Turkey day football, and of course Beaujolais Nouveau.  Traditionally, the Thursday before Thanksgiving is celebrated as Beaujolais Nouveau day, a wine made from the current year’s harvest and meant to enjoy new and now. We love ourselves a good tradition – snapping the wishbone to see who gets out of dishes – but we also like shaking things up. So this year, we’re celebrating Beaujolais Day!

New Traditions…

We’ll have the traditional Beaujolais Nouveau (and if you’ve never tried it, it’s fun, fruity, and delicious like a good fruit punch), but the highlight of the day will be Cru Beaujolais, because yes… Gamay Noir can be made into wine with complexity and age. Sadly, Beaujolais is mostly associated with the mass distributed Beaujolais Nouveau, which has its place but fails to encompass the breadth and potential of the region (like Gamay Noir Bubbly! oh la la!). For a region that has 10 Cru Appellations, it’s a shame to only drink from the outlying, general areas. So join us Thursday and shake it up, try something new and find a new tradition!

Domaine Frank Besson Rose Granit 2018
$22.49 a bottle | $20.24 a bottle by the 6 Pack ($121.44)
Tart Stone Fruit Aromas, Vibrant Minerality, Sassy Bubbles
– From the Julienas Cru, this is a new one for us and we’re stoked to add this to our Thanksgiving 2019 Table! Lydia loves Rosé, Bubbles, and obscure wines, so obviously this is a trifecta bottle for her; “Every day is a good day for Bubbles!”

Domaine de la Voute de Croze Cote de Brouilly 2018
$22.49 a bottle | Only 12 Bottles Available
Stone Fruit Aromas, Lingering Minerality, Elegant Tannins
Nicole Chanrion, generational farmer, took over the family domaine in 1988. A hands on vigneronne, she does it all from field to bottle and beyond. She’s the president of the Cote-de-Brouilly, and affectionally referred to as “Patronne de la Cote” the Boss of la Cote. We think her wine is pretty boss too…

Chateau de Pizay Morgon 2018
$18.29 a bottle | $16.46 a bottle by the 6 Pack ($98.76)
Zesty Aromas, Bright Dark Fruit,  Firm Tannins
– Drink Now, or Save For Later. This is a young wine , with a developing core that will benefit from aging, but also drinks brightly right now.

No RSVP, this tasting is for 3 wines and does not include food. Create your own Nibbles Plate with items from our Deli Case and Cheese Wall. Ask for Pairing Recommendations. By the Glass options available.
